Every day, we are changing lives through sports.

We are getting more children involved with sports by helping to offset registration fees, equipment, uniforms, and other associated costs.  We are increasing quality youth sports participation by providing financial support to families and communities that lack sufficient resources and we are providing well deserved opportunities for all children to be involved in athletics and to reach their fullest potential.

Sports are more expensive than ever.

  • Registration fees should not be a roadblock for participation. FAL covers registration fees so that all kids have a chance to participate in sports, regardless of their family's ability to afford the fees.
  • Uniforms are a necessary expense.  Uniforms hold an innate power that can truly strengthen a team’s unity and confidence.  Quality uniforms are often a costly investment that are out of reach for many.  FAL has proudly funded both practice and game uniforms for many individual athletes and entire teams.
  • Proper equipment is another costly but essential expense.  Quality equipment protects the athlete from injury while also enhancing performance.  Future Athletes of Louisiana keeps a small inventory of safety and practice equipment.  This equipment is available for use by athletes, coaches, or schools upon request.  We will also assist with equipment purchases on a case-by-case basis.
  • Travel expenses have become one of the costliest expenses in youth sports.  When a young athlete reaches a certain competitive level, often travel is required to progress in the sport.  Travel expenses can be very burdensome to many families and completely out of the question for some.   FAL can help fund travel expenses in many cases.  This may include paying for a hotel room, food, or even fuel costs.

Monetary donations allow us to get more kids from income-restricted families and communities to participate in youth athletics by paying for registration fees, equipment, uniforms, and other associated costs.

Who benefits from your financial assistance program and what geographic area is served?

Families and communities who lack sufficient resources to pay for youth sports registration fees, equipment, uniforms, and other associated costs benefit from our financial assistance program.  We focus on youth located in Louisiana.

Do you accept donations of new or used sports equipment?

To keep overhead low, we currently do not accept or store new or used sports equipment unless we are collecting items for an upcoming fundraising or sporting event.  When a recipient needs a piece of equipment, FAL purchases the item and arranges for delivery to or pick-up by the athlete’s family.

Can I volunteer for Future Athletes of Louisiana?

Yes, there are many ways to volunteer for Future Athletes of Louisiana!  We periodically need volunteers to help with fundraising events.  Students can also organize a school team or group fundraiser to help FAL get more kids involved with sports.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at info@futureathletesofla.org.
